On #FuelPovertyAwarenessDay this year, we celebrate the success of last year`s Winter Relief Fund - helping to keep young people warm and housed during the difficult winter months.Cast your mind back to Autumn 2022. I`m sure you remember being concerned about inflation and the dramatic increase in energy bills and rent. But for young people affected by homelessness, this worry was even more acute – would I be able to keep my flat if rent and energy bills rises? Will I be forced back into homelessness??So on 1st October 2022, the Young Londoner’s Winter Relief Fund was created in partnership with funders and charities, with the aim of keeping young people housed and in employment or education. It offered one-off, non-repayable grants of up to £300 to young people to support them with bills, rent and other necessary items.Read more - link in bio 🖇️

“Here I amI won’t go awayHere I amPraying for a better day.“Here I amWill you stand with me?Here I amTogether we’ll be free.” (Alistair Murray)We were honoured to join this morning`s moving Commemoration Service for deaths among people who have experienced homelessness at St Martin-in-the-Fields. It’s so important that we remember them and push harder for better services this winter to keep people safe. We mourn the dead, and spend everyday fighting like hell for the living.
