We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who joined us on the 5th September for our Summer Reception. Our much loved annual fundraiser is back, bigger and better than ever thanks to the phenomenal support of the Searcys team.
We welcomed over 100 guests to the stunning setting of Searcys at the Gherkin for an evening celebrating the important work that we do at New Horizon and how our supporters make that possible. Guests enjoyed a champagne reception, our famous staff-run lucky dip and delicious food and drink overlooking the London skyline from one of the most iconic London landmarks.
Photos were taken by the wonderful Sam Lane, who also provided a photoshoot as a prize.
With the generous donations and bids from our patrons, we raised a fabulous £32,000 to further fund our vital work. There’s never been a more important time to act on preventing youth homelessness, with the escalating Cost of Living crisis and continued lack of structural support for this under-served group. Every penny will go towards supporting our mission of giving potential a home.
We want to extend a special thank you to our event organising committee; Katherine Dandy, Vivienne Jenkins and our board member Martin Dibben who led the event and was our wonderful auctioneer. We also want to thank our beloved patron Jon Snow for auctioning several of his famous ties and speaking about his experience supporting us for over 50 years. And a massive thank you got to the team Searcys team. As part of their 175th anniversary celebrations, they have pledged to raise £175,000 for charities and social enterprises in the communities they operate in and we are enormously grateful to have enjoyed their venue, hosting and expert support.
Thank you to all who attended and our team for helping us run such a successful evening.
