How we help

At New Horizon Youth Centre we support you with preparation for the work place.

Our dedicated staff and programmes support young people who want help with employment, education and training (EET). The EET team can support you with:

  • Jobs - Jobsearch and job applications, interview, presentation and CV writing skills, finding work placements, apprenticeships or volunteering opportunities
  • Further Training - College applications / UCAS applications, help with paperwork (eg. benefit applications) and advice
  • Future Planning - Working towards positive futures through goal setting and one-to-one coaching
  • Learning Programmes - Weekend learning programme for homeless young people
  • Involvement - Support and encouragement to get involved with projects such as the Social Enterprise Project.

"In 2017 we helped 886 young people get a job, training, work placement or place in education, helping them along the path to independence."

Weekend Learning

At the weekend we continue to run remote services and learning. This might mean a referral to emergency accommodation or taking part the accredited award scheme (AQA) training, which includes:

  • Numeracy, literacy or personal development.
  • ESOL classes.
  • One-to-one support for those with basic or no literacy or numeracy skills.
