We were delighted to host over 150 guests at our annual summer fundraiser at the beautiful rooftop venue 30 Euston Square, raising an amazing £30,000 to support our work helping vulnerable and homeless young people at the weekend.
Being open 7 days a week makes a huge difference to the young people that we support. For those rough sleeping ours is often the only service open for young people at the weekend, and for those who are working or attending college this may be the only time they can get the support and advice they need.
At the weekend our centre offers a range of services including, breakfast and lunch, hot showers, warm clothes, access to a nurse and referrals to emergency accommodation. The weekend is also a time for learning with the opportunity for young people to access accredited sessions on numeracy, literacy, personal development and life skills.
This year's event was held at the beautiful rooftop venue, 30 Euston Square, and we cannot thank the wonderful team from Searcy's enough for their hospitality. Searcy's were also incredibly generous in donating a number of prizes for our auction and raffle including an exclusive Searcys Food Tour as well as dinner for two at their Helix restaurant at the Gherkin.
We also had wonderful auction contributions from The St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, Heatherwick's Studios, Fameed Khalique as well as our lovely patron, Jon Snow, who auctioned two of his iconic ties and a behind the scenes tour at Channel 4, which all helped us to raise an incredible £14,000 in the auction. Our last and final auction prize however was the show stopper of the evening, a chef's table experience at New Horizon's very own dining table for 12 guests with a four course meal prepared by our generous friends from Searcy's.
We would like to thank everyone who attended, and to say an extra special thank you to all who donated prizes, listed below, as well as our fantastic BBQ committee - Martin Dibben, Vivienne Jenkins and Katherine Dandy who all volunteer their time and work so hard to make this event such a success. Special thanks also goes to Reanna, one of our wonderful young people, who spoke so personally and passionately about the support she has received at the centre.
We look forward to seeing you again next year!
