Our role as an organisation leading the way in teaching young people how to resolve conflict was recognised at Leap's 'Lighting the Fire' awards in May.
NHYC received Highly Commended certificates in two categories: Best Project and Inspirational Adult, which went to our fantastic (and very inspirational!) Employment, Education and Training co-ordinator Janet.
Leap helps vulnerable 11 to 25 year olds make changes in their lives through a better understanding of themselves and their relationship with conflict. Like us they work with many young people who have grown up in care, display violent behaviour, or are caught up in the criminal justice system.
We are very grateful to have our work recognised at these awards, which we hope will continue to highlight the shocking levels of violent assaults and murders occurring among London's young people, and encourage more people to get involved in finding solutions to the problem.
