We have just had the most amazing community gardening day with local residents and the energetic team of The Guardian News & Media volunteers!
Sweet and savoury crepes were served thanks to our very own CrepeUp stall (usually seen on Friday’s Chalton Street Market), cakes were donated by The Guardian, and there were plenty of refreshments and tunes to keep the gardeners going. The sun shone, our young people helped us with weeding and planting as did many representatives from the local community and the young people, staff and friends of New Horizon Youth Centre.
Our front vegetable garden as well as the entire Levita House courtyard now look wonderful. We are looking forward to welcoming even more residents to use this beautiful space over the summer months.
Our special thanks go to Rob Rattley and his team at The Guardian for taking time out from their busy schedules and to his colleague, Jane Perrone (Gardening Editor), who came along to advise us prior to the day.
Well done everyone!
