“The Hackney Half is probably one of the most fun Half marathons in London, the community support is unrivalled, the streets are full of spectators the weekend is like a festival for runners with a host of different activities to get involved with the whole weekend and on the day. Hackney Half is one of those races that you must experience, and I always try and find room in my calendar every year to make sure I am at the start line.” Claude Umuhire - London Programmes Manager at The Running Charity, former young person at New Horizon Youth Centre

Was great to hear our CEO Phil and Andy, a young person we`ve been supporting, on @bbclondon this week. Young people are the fastest growing age group forced to sleep rough in London and yet there is no recognition of this in the funding, political priorities and service offer in the capital and across the UK. We`ve been supporting under-25s who are unhoused and unsafe in London for over half a century, and it`s never been this bad. The problem isn`t going anywhere, so nor are we. We`ll keep using every platform we have to shout about how young people don`t get the support and attention they deserve. We need everyone to take this seriously and start listening to young people and we must have a #YouthHomelessChapter in the government`s new strategy to end homelessness. Reach out if you want to join us in this fight!

It’s all hands on deck to get them out to young people! Rough sleeping increased 33% in the last few months so sadly we are seeing a lot of our young people who really need these care packs with essential items such as toothbrushes, hand-warmers, thermals and sleeping bags. Thanks so much @thecarepack for your donation, it has made lots of our young people very happy!
We had a special guest visit from @mr_njonesofficial at our wonderful Festive Evening of Thanks! We thanked our partners and funders for their incredible support for our work over the past year. We showcased our young people`s Portrait Photography and created Christmas decorations for the day centre windows.Thank you to @sohowinesupply @cheezelo and @paulrhodesbakery for the delicious mulled wine, cheese boards and mince pies!
