Euros are over, but hope will always beat homelessness

Posted on: 15 July 2024

The Euros are over. Football didn’t come home. And it wasn’t alone.

Because last year, over 20,000 young Londoners approached their council as homeless and more than 1,000 ended up sleeping on the capital’s streets. That’s a rise of 33% from the previous year.

The crisis is growing, but so is our ambition to tackle it. We’re running a 10-day festival of football, from October 1st to World Homeless Day on October 10th.

And we want you to join us.

Whether it’s trying your luck at our crossbar challenge, attending eye-opening talks, or competing with friends and colleagues at the ultimate 5-a-side tournament.

Let’s prove that hope will always beat homelessness.

Get involved in 10 Days to Tackle Youth Homelessness⚽

We are hosting a 5-a-side football tournament at the Handyside Sports Pitch in the iconic Tapestry Building in the heart of King’s Cross. For 6 days, from Saturday October 5th to World Homeless Day on October 10th.

We’re looking for 16 teams of all ages, genders and abilities to take part in our group stage and knockout tournament from our local partners and businesses across London.

This is a fantastic chance to challenge your neighbours to a friendly match and get your team fundraising for an amazing cause!

More details for the tournament will follow and be sure to register your organisations interest ASAP as there are only 16 team spots available.

Come and support London’s leading charity, New Horizon Youth Centre, as we raise funds and fight youth homelessness.
